Adowry is the money goods or estate that a woman brings to her husband in marriage. .dowry system is a course to our society .In olden times the parents willingly gave costly parents organements and  money to their daughters on marriage  . But in Modern Times, this system Has become a  compulsion . The brides who do not bring  rich  dowry with them are ill treated in soluted beaten and sometimes even killed. The government is taking strong action against such cases. But an awakening in society against the system essential. Dowry in the cases expression contemplated by dowry prohibition act is a demand for property of valubile security having an inextricable nexus with the marriage, i. E, it is acondertion from the side of the bried parents or relatives to the groom or his partents and or gurardian for the agreement  to wed the the bride tobe. Dowry means property brought by a bride when she get marriead to a man. Dowry system is becoming very common in our country. Dowry is a social evel performed in our society. It is also leads to many othersocial dis comforts in the society.  Poor parents are forced to give  property to their daughters.  this causes a great stress and depression for poor parents in the socity.  the dowry system can put a great financial burden on the brides family.  it creats difference among people.  people should be education so that this social evel could be removed from the social ety. Dowry system is a social evil. It ignores the merit od the girl it is no longer a taken of love or affetion.  Now dowry is demanded as a matter of right. Dowry system advantages and disadvantages. Advanteges,  dowry helps newly married couple to establish  their family. The dowry  ,morny, utensils and others  house hold  articles  that  a Bride  bring  at the  time  of marriage  couple to establish  their New  Home.
